SAN DIEGO (March 5, 2004) – US Joiner LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gatewick Enterprises, Inc., has signed an eight-year lease for 66,530 square feet of warehouse/distribution and office space in Otay Mesa’s Siempre Viva Business Park at 8851 Kerns Street, San Diego 92154.  The company is scheduled to move in May 1.

US Joiner LLC was formed at the end of 2003 when Gatewick Enterprises purchased certain assets of Hopeman Brothers Marine Interiors LLC.   US Joiner LLC is currently completing contracts at NASSCO involved with outfitting BP tankers and Navy T-AKE’s.

US Joiner will use the facility to warehouse raw and prefabricated ship-building materials (principally for interior furniture, cabinets and finishes) and to conduct light sheet metal work.

US Joiner was represented in the transaction by Steve Salmons of Commercial Properties Services of San Diego. The lessor, Murphy Development Company, was represented by Hack Adams, the firm’s director of marketing.  US Joiner leased approximately 60 percent of the 115,290-square-foot Building 10 in the business park’s Eastern Phase.

Siempre Viva Business Park lies along the U.S./Mexico border, a quarter mile west of the Otay Mesa Port of Entry.  The business park has attracted a number of prestigious international tenants, including Hitachi Transport, Iron Mountain, Air Tiger, UPS-SCS, Bose Corporation, and Pioneer Speakers.  Upon completion, the business park will exceed 2 million square feet.

Murphy Development Company is the largest commercial real estate developer on Otay Mesa.  The firm has completed in excess of 3.6 million square feet of space on Otay Mesa and has plans for an additional 2.5 million square feet.
